I was thinking about sugar. If you took a spoonful of sugar out of the container and looked at it you would see some white crystal- like stuff, right? It’s visible. However if you took that spoonful of sugar and poured it into a glass of water and stirred it, the sugar is invisible, right? You can’t see it, but is it there? Just taste the water and you’ll see that the sugar is indeed in there!
Jesus told His disciples something like my sugar illustration the night before He knew he would be crucified for our salvation. He said that although he was leaving them, He was going to send the Holy Spirit, who would live IN them forever. Our wonderful God gives the gift of the Holy Spirit to all those who ask for forgiveness. Acts 2:38 . Sweet!
The Bible says to “taste and see” that the Lord is good. (Psalm 34:8) The Holy Spirit is God’s guarantee of eternal life. God living inside the human heart. Right there. Forever. Blows me away.
